Zaatar Blend by Terre Exotique

Terre Exotique’s zaatar seasoning brings a bright, lemony kick to your flatbreads and marinades. Originating from Byblos, Lebanon, this simple blend of just five ingredients shines with nutty sesame, fragrant thyme, and zesty sumac.
Tangy, aromatic, and lightly salty, zaatar’s bold sumac flavour is perfect for dipping bread in olive oil, in olive oil with artichokes, or sprinkling over shakshuka.

1. Zaatar Roasted Potatoes

• Ingredients: 500g baby potatoes, 2 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp zaatar seasoning, salt to taste.
• Instructions: Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Toss the potatoes with olive oil, zaatar, and salt. Spread on a baking sheet and roast for 25-30 minutes or until golden and crispy. Serve warm as a side dish.

2. Zaatar Yogurt Dip

• Ingredients: 1 cup Greek yogurt, 1 tbsp zaatar seasoning, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp olive oil, pinch of salt.
• Instructions: Mix the Greek yogurt, zaatar, lemon juice, and salt in a bowl. Drizzle olive oil on top and serve with pita chips or fresh vegetables.

3. Zaatar Grilled Chicken

• Ingredients: 2 chicken breasts, 2 tbsp zaatar seasoning, 2 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp lemon juice, salt to taste.
• Instructions: Mix olive oil, zaatar, lemon juice, and salt. Coat the chicken with the mixture and marinate for 30 minutes. Grill on medium heat for 5-7 minutes per side or until fully cooked. Serve with a side salad or rice.
