Hojicha is a roasted Japanese green tea, first developed in Kyoto in the 1920s to utilise leftover tea leaves, stems, and twigs. Its roasting process gives it a distinctive flavour with notes of nori seaweed, roasted hazelnut, delicate smoke, and woody tannins, paired with a low caffeine content. It pairs well with sushi, mushroom risotto, and even sweet treats like caramel desserts.

Best sparkling tea

A must try for a fan of Hojicha. Depth of hojicha is amazing. A good alternative if you are not a big fan of alcohol and would like to have an aperatif.
