UK Grass Fed Striploin Steak
UK Grass Fed Striploin, or Sirloin, comes from along the spine in the hindquarter of the animal. A muscle that doesn't do much work, it is tender with a think covering of fat protecting the stunningly meat beneath. Reared in the heart of the Cain Valley in Wales, UK. Being grass fed gives the meat a meatier and more gamey flavour when compared to Grain Fed Beef.
Containing one ±300g steak, this Striploin Steak is a perfect treat mid week, with a glass of wine and some griddled tenderstem broccoli cooked in the steak pan making it meaty and delicious.
We always recommend bringing your steak up to room temperature about 30 minutes before cooking. This is to ensure even cooking throughout. Season the steak liberally with Maldon Sea Salt and a little oil, fat side down first cook until golden brown in a hot frying pan until golden brown using tongs to hold the steak upright, after which cook on either side for 1 – 2 minutes till a delectable even crust. After which remove from the pan and cover, letting rest for 5 minutes. In the pan add a splash of wine, knob of butter and some fresh herbs, here you can add some par boiled potaotes, tenderstem broccoli, slices of shallots to give a warm rich full of flavour accompaniment to the steak.
